The best way to get a real sense of CrossFit is to take one of Newton Abbot CrossFit's FREE Taster Session. Each session includes some careful instruction on CrossFit basic movements, a short CrossFit workout based on those movements, and a further explanation of the world of CrossFit.


Free Taster sessions  are suitable for all fitness levels. We know that trying a new workout class or gym can be intimidating. But at Newton Abbot CrossFit we have created an Intro Class structure that allows anyone to jump right in, regardless of their shape, age or fitness level – our programmes are truly scalable for anyone.






At Newton Abbot CrossFit we are not here to sell you anything. We are coaches, not salesmen.

With that being said, we want to ensure that you begin your journey towards a fit and healthy life in the right way. If you are new to CrossFit, we will sign you onto the FUNDAMENTALS course.


Prior to beginning the CrossFit program, each athlete must be able to perform the nine fundamental movements that are the backbone of CrossFit training. This  program is done over a couple sessions in order to get you comfortable and consistant with the movements.


The coach will provide personal instruction of the nine fundamental movements of CrossFit.  We want to make sure that you are structurally sound to get your body prepared in the right way. You have to learn to crawl before you can walk right? Once you have finished your FUNDAMENTALS course  you can begin working out within the regular class schedule.  Your membership will begin the following month.

 - The Fundamentals Course -




After completing the FUNDAMENTALS course, you will be given the go-ahead to begin training with the CrossFit Classes.


As you become more familiar with our coaching and programming, we will adjust each workout so that you are maximising your athletic potential while keeping safety as the number one priority. If at any time you do not feel comfortable with a particular movement or have questions please ask! We love to talk about what we love to do – coach you!




Now you are on your way!


  • There are plenty of CrossFit class options to choose from. We recommend training a minimum of 3 days per week.


  • We do however want our athletes to be rested and recovered properly. That means – recovering with the right fuel, rest and relaxation.


  • From here, make sure you arrive on time to class. We take class attendance seriously because when we are in class, we are teaching you important things and it doesn’t help your progress to miss any of that valuable information.


  • Secondly, it just stinks when you walk in late and everyone else is on time. Be respectful of your community of fellow athletes as well.


  • Ok, now it’s your turn to come by the “box” and introduce yourself to us. While you are                             here, we will welcome you to your new family.
